Volvo C70 vs. Audi A5

The 2011 Volvo C70 is a four-passenger luxury convertible with a retractable hardtop, and it’s available in one trim level, the T5. The front-wheel-drive 2011 Volvo C70 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine rated at 227 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is rated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined, making the C70 a eco-friendly vehicle.

The 2011 Audi A5 only comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine good for 211 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The EPA gives estimates with all-wheel drive and the automatic stand at 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined, with the manual getting a slight bump up to 21/31/25, meaning that the A5 has a slightly higher fuel emission rate than the C70.

Volvo C70 vs. BMW 328i

The Volvo C70 comes with standard Inflatable Curtains, Anti-Theft Alarm System and Dual Covered Rear Seat Storage. The BMW 328i charges an extra $400 for the Anti-Theft System and the other features are not available.

The Dynaudio sound system in the C70 is one of the best-sounding open-air audio experiences available from any automaker. It comes with a standard USB Audio Connection and a complimentary Sirius Radio Subscription available for 6 months. BMW charges $400 for the 328i’s Audio Connection and the Sirius Radio Subscription is not available.

Volvo C70 vs. Lexus IS 250C

Rear Seat Headroom for the C70 is 36.4 inches and 33.9 inches for back legroom. The Lexus IS 250C has 36.1 inches for rear seat headroom and only 25.9 inches for legroom. High Definition Radio and Flat Folding Front Passenger Seat come standard in the Volvo C70. However, the Lexus does not offer these features.

Volvo C70 vs. Infiniti G37

Factory Scheduled Maintenance for the C70 is 5 years with a 60,000 mi (during Safe + Secure incentive period, otherwise 4 years and 50,000 mi). Maintenance for the Infiniti G37 is not available. Highway Fuel Economy for the Infiniti is 25 mpg; the C70 offers a 28mpg.

The Volvo C70 has been an IIHS Top Safety Pick for the past 3 years, however Audi, BMW, Lexus and Infiniti have not been considered. Recommended fuel type for the C70 is Regular; other makes require Premium fuel.
