Our Very Own Volvo Overseas Delivery: Jerry Warfield

In August, Paul Moak Volvo Sales Manger Jerry Warfield, and his wife, Carol, visited Gothenburg, Sweden, as part of Volvo’s exclusive Overseas Delivery Program. This program, available to any interested Volvo customer, allows you to travel to Volvo headquarters to pick up your new Volvo and tour for yourself where your vehicle was made and more about Volvo’s unique heritage.  Participants in this program get to buy a new Volvo for unbelievable savings, receive complimentary airfare and hotel accommodations, and have their vehicle available in Sweden for any additional European touring.  Go to our website for additional details,

Trip Itinerary:
Monday, August 23rd:  Jerry and Carol cross the Atlantic via Houston and Chicago.
When they arrived in Gothenburg, Sweden, a Volvo representative was standing by to
greet the Warfield’s at the airport.

Tuesday, August 24th: Volvo provided transportation to the Radisson Blue Hotel,
where the Warfield’s attended a special Volvo reception that evening.

Wednesday, August 25th:  A shuttle bus took the Warfields on a 40-minute drive to Volvo Headquarters.  No cameras allowed inside, but Jerry has filled us in on his exciting day: a “Blue Train Tour” of the entire campus, viewing assembly lines, and the final assembly stage.  After the tour, the group was dropped off at the Overseas Delivery area, where customers can browse accessory options and a Volvo technician is standing by for installation.  A Volvo specialist is also assigned to customers to fully explain their new Volvo automobile.  The Warfields then visited the Volvo Safety Center, which is both a working facility for Volvo’s engineers as well as a museum.  Final stop of the day was the Volvo Test Track, where Jerry and Carol got to test drive the 2001 Volvo S60 in addition to other various European Volvo vehicles.

Thursday, August 26th and Friday, August 27th: One of the best parts of the Overseas Delivery experience is that you can add on additional European experiences to your trip.  The Warfields took advantage of a mini-vacation to Stockholm and spent their final two days and nights in Sweden’s largest city.  The couple took the XJ2000 Supertrain from Gothenburg to Stockholm, enjoying the scenic route that lasted approximately 3 hours.  Here they toured the city, enjoying local architecture, sights, and cuisine.
